“When I approach a child, he inspires in me two sentiments; tenderness for what he is, and respect for what he may become.” ~ Louis Pasteur
Being a young person is hard. Parenting can be hard. Chances are you’re reading my bio because you’re worried about your child or teen. Or because you yourself feel the need to talk to someone.
Life as a kid or teen can be beautiful and amazing. It can also be hard and full of transitions, anxiety, grief, and overwhelm. I have a passion for doing therapy with kids, adolescents, and young adults. I firmly believe the young people I work with are resilient and capable of huge growth. I’m proud to be walk with them in any phase of their journey towards adulthood.
My areas of special interest are anxiety, depression, self esteem, Autism, transitions, and cultural adjustment. I have a strong focus on working with kids individually as well as with their families. I view therapy as a process of coming alongside the whole family unit to help find healthy ways of navigating the tough parts of the season they’re in. I use a variety of approaches, including elements of play therapy, cognitive behavioral therapy, and dialectical behavioral therapy.
I have worked as a school social worker for seven years and have experience in private practice as well. I also speak Spanish and have several years of experience working with bicultural families, newcomers to the United States, and bilingual families.
I look forward to walking alongside you, your child, or your family!
