ASIA BEYER, MA LSW

Licensed Social Worker

Elgin & Sycamore offices and online via Telehealth

I tried to remember when I was perusing therapist profiles what I was hoping to find as my best personality match while writing this introduction. I desired a therapist who was committed to challenging me, embraced confrontation as the pathway to change, and cared for me as a whole person. The pursuit of fitting therapist can be difficult, and I believe my therapy style is reflected in what I was once looking for in a therapist myself. It is one of the greatest joys of my life to be invited into my client’s stories, sharing in the victories and witnessing the pain of healing.

My experience includes working with survivors of sex trafficking/commercial sexual exploitation. Don’t let this scare you! It really means that I live in the world of trauma and addiction. I have experience working with mood disorders, personality disorders, and complex trauma. I enjoy utilizing DBT techniques, somatic experiences, and attachment theory to assist clients. I have a Bachelors in Pastorals Studies majoring in Ministry to Victims of Sexual Exploitation at Moody Bible Institute. Later, I received my Masters is Social Work from University of Illinois at Chicago becoming a Licensed Social Worker.

At the end of the day, Christ has personally transformed my life and the lives of my client’s, so if you’d like this to be a part of our counseling relationship or have questions, it is welcomed in our time together.
